I will be hosting this retreat with my cousin Anna who lives in Castel Morrone. She is a wealth of knowledge for the town’s history, people, and all that we will see and do!
In 2023, when I was laid off from my job, I decided to take a trip to Castel Morrone, the little town in Italy where my grandfather was born, where my last name originates from, and immerse myself in the food culture of my Italian heritage. My cousin Anna and her family welcomed me with open arms into their homes and kitchens. It was there that I experienced the local way of living, a place that is deeply rooted in its ancestral heritage, an experience that was so transformational for me that I want to share it with you too! Together, Anna and I welcome you to come and stay in the town of our ancestry so you too can experience what it is like to truly be part of a small Italian community that feels like family.
“Thank you so much for connecting me with Anna. It was incredibly nice of her to pick me up and take me to meet my potential distant relatives. What a warm welcome with delicious cake!! We are not related but it was still an unforgettable experience. I love Castel Morrone! I’m going hiking again today. You have given me a wonderful gift!”
