From the view in my quaint 1930’s Spanish bungalow with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, I witnessed something magical during my time at home in the spring of 2020, our Los Angeles smoggy air seemed to have gone away, leaving space for spectacular sunsets to show up. It was one after another, each night, almost greeting me to say, “you got this, you’ll make it through this tough time.” And so the idea of creating her sunset views came to fruition. You can still get a copy of the book, allowing me to share these incredible sunsets from my home to yours. I hope this book continues to inspire us all to remember to find the good even in the toughest situations.
My sunset book also painted the path for my second book, cooking with italian roots, in which I published in 2021. This second book is a cookbook celebrating the holidays of my Italian American family throughout the year, sharing family Italian recipes that accompany those holidays. Although I live in California now, I grew up back east in Connecticut with a big Italian family. Every holiday was a huge family gathering with more food than you could ever finish and more people than you could think you know! My late grandmother, Mimi, along with her mother, my great grandmother Gram, were the glues of our family and whom were the base of most of the recipes. The book is a tribute to my Mimi and I hope you check it out so you can be a part of our family too!
